Audi R8 Drive

Holy Macaroni.

THIS was a car.

It was fast. It was pure. And the engine sounded like god's gift to tone and treble. It was composed... I could go on..

TBH I was expecting a half assed Gallardo. And in some respects, I got what I expected. However, it was much prettier to look at then the Gallardo, and for the 2 days I drove it, it was much easier to notice how many people were looking at it.

It wasn't particularily fast, but it had great all round vision, and the shifts were great with the 6speed instead of the Gallardo's DSG.

At one point, in the rain, I overzealously pushed the car, and I truly thought it would crash, however through a caveat of luck, the Quattro dug in and saved my ass.

The materials are first rate, as is the ride quality. The speed is nice (Like a 911), and the car is SUPER stable.

Plus: It may just be the most beautiful car I've ever seen minus the Ferrari 250 GTO.

PET PEEVES

1. The taste of apple juice after brushing my teeth
2. Mosquito's
3. Running into spider webs
4. Not being aware of how "AMAZING" the twilight series is.
5. Not knowing what to do.

Lamborghini Gallardo Test Drive

Well, recently I was allowed to test drive a Lamborghini Gallardo for two days over the Canadian Thanksgiving weekend.

What a strange car. I felt like I was driving an overdone Volkswagen Beetle.

The car had plenty of power, with something like 500 horsepower on tap, and a 4WD system, but it felt a little to crumbly, like it was going to fall apart. Apart from that, it was fast, and provided lots of fun through the turns.

That is... when I could GET through the turns without being psyched out by how far away the windshield is. Not only do you have to get used to it being a foot away, you have to deal with a seat position that is almost laying down... which isn't exactly the most ideal for long trips.

There is no luggage space, no major conveniences, Audi switchgear, and lots of little creaks that shows it's a Lamborghini.

In other words... it's perfect Lambo.

Struggling Economy

As I drove by the gas station the other night, on my way to the beach, my friends commented on how nice it was to see that the gas was so low...

TBH, I couldn't disagree more.

Although it may be a good thing to "SEE" Gas prices dip, it really just goes to show how deep in doodoo our economy really is. Maybe it's time we put our foot down, and started taking a more realistic and natural approach to saving our well spent dollars. Less and less jobs are available... because people are keeping them for stable cashflow.

Does George Bush care? No. Does Stephen Harper care? No. Does your next door neighbour care? Not likely. Maybe you should be the first to start looking out for your future childrens well being. Maybe we should all chip in.

I dunno.

But man, do I ever miss the days of candy bars being 50 cents, and gas being 78 cents. Man does that ever make me sound old.

Somehow, I feel left out without you.

I went to the sunset at Wasaga for the first time since you've been gone... and standing there all alone was surreal. I don't think I have ever wanted to cry more in my life. You were not in my arms... you were not by my side. In fact, at the time, you were thousands of miles away. But I don't think I've ever felt you more inside my heart.

I miss you so much.

And sunsets just don't seem the same without you anymore.

Pripyat

This is an old abandoned city inside the area of the infamous Chernobyl nuclear disaster of 1986.

It used to house 50,000 people... now it houses no-one due to it's incredibly high radiation levels.

It's an interesting story to plow through, seeing the fact that everyone just got up and left... so abruptly in fact, that TV's were left on, and schoolbooks left open.
